Summer Nails Through the Years: 2018
We’re back with the next post in our “through the years” series of summer nail art! If you missed last week’s post, we looked at some of my favorite manis from the summer of 2017, and this week we’re moving on to 2018!
Since this year, in 2023, we’re celebrating over SIX YEARS of threesixtynails, I wanted to go back in time and share a few of my favorite summer nail designs from each of those six years. So, even though some of the photo quality may not be the greatest from years past (yikes, sorry, haha), I hope that these posts will give you some mani inspiration for our current summer season. And, if you’ve been around here for a long time, maybe it’ll even be a trip down memory lane for you. :)
I took a bit of a break from blogging in the summer of 2018, but I was still posting nail art on Instagram, so that’s where these manis hail from. Let’s get into it!
1. Cute Character Nails
From May 17th, 2018
If you’re in the mood for some hand-painting, then choosing a favorite character is such a cute mani theme!
Pusheen has been a favorite cute character of mine for years and such an adorable subject for nail art! I love the combination of colors and patterns for this one. This is such a fun prompt for coming up with endless design ideas, so it’s perfect for summer.
2. Strawberry Mani
From June 6th, 2018
Bold, bright, and sparkly!
I honestly have no memory of even putting this mani together, but coming across it while looking for manis for this post was a nice surprise! I think this design idea is really cute for warmer months. Plus, I think it would be really fun to re-create with different polish finishes like pastels, bright colors, glitter, etc.
3. Funky Citrus Nail Art
From June 3rd, 2018
A mani you can see from the moon, lol!
I love these colors together! Citrus is another adorable fruit theme for summer, so if you’ve got some favorite bright shades like these hanging around, give this mani a try. Once again, it’d be fun to re-create with different polish types.
4. Minimal Dotticure/Bubbles Mani
From July 1st, 2018
An easy and elegant mani for all occasions.
This is definitely one of my favorite 2018 manis in general. I really like this pale pink color and, no matter how minimal you decide to go with the dot design, this is such a quick and cute mani to put together for a last-minute mani.
5. Bright Color Combo Mani
From August 18th, 2018
This option is super fun, versatile, and totally customizable to you and your style!
If you’ve visited my blog before, you may know that bright nail polish colors are some of my favorites, so of course I adore this idea for a mani! You can choose whatever color combination you like and, if you want a little more detail, you can easily add some alternating dots with a bobby pin or toothpick. So cute!
I really enjoyed sharing more of these nostalgic nail designs with you! I remember having so much fun posting all of these manis on Instagram and getting to experiment with a variety of cute designs was such a blast.
