Disney Descendants 2 Nail Art Series: Ben and Audrey + 4 things you'll only notice in "Descendants" and "Descendants 2" when you watch them for the millionth time

Good afternoon, all! The pair that won the vote last week was Ben and Audrey, so I'm showing you how to create these two Auradon royals... in nail art. :) Plus, for some added bonuses within the threesixtynails Pop Culture Series, I'll be sharing "4 things you'll only notice when you've watched both Descendants movies for the millionth time" with you! Let's go!

Unfortunately, Audrey, daughter of Aurora, did not make an appearance in the sequel to "Descendants"--she was on a "spa vacation with Flora, Fauna, and Merriweather" and then had a car breakdown in Sherwood Forest on the way back. However, I still wanted to include her in this series because her signature colors are so perfect!

Ben got a bit of a makeover in the second movie, plus he had to take part in some sword fighting. "I had a lot of fun in the sword fight. But it was intense. It's like stretching your muscles. And I'm not a dancer, nor am I a fencer, nor am I a singer. But all of it together was interesting," said Mitchell Hope, who plays Prince Ben.

Okay, let's get into the nail art! You know the drill; Polishes/Tools list and step-by-steps are below. Enjoy!

Step 1: Choose a royal blue color that matches Ben's signature outfits as well as you like. Apply this as your base color.

Step 2: Now we're going to draw a crown French tip. Draw three triangles with gold polish and a detailing brush extending up/down from the free-edge/tip of your nail.

Step 3: Add the swirly decorations, a bit like a simple version of a flordeleis, at the point of each triangle.

Step 4: Finish with green and dark blue dots as the gems in the crown at the base of each triangle.

Step 5: Protect this regal design with top coat to finish!

Step 1: Apply a coat of pink polish that matches Audrey's signature hue as well as you like.

Step 2: Grab a light baby-blue that matches Audrey's other signature color as well as you like; use the brush to create a thick stripe across the middle of the nail.

Step 3: Decorate with white dots below and above the stripe to represent some delicate pearls.

Step 4: Finish with top coat!

Great! So now, onto some cool movie secrets/Disney Easter Eggs! The first one is in the original "Descendants", and it comes during Ben's "Did I Mention (that I'm in Love with You)" song. All of the Auradon guys are in their Tourney jerseys, and if look really close, you'll see that Carlos' has the number 101 on it. Funny, considering his mother is Cruella De Vil from "101 Dalmations"? :)

Next is a little fashion Easter Egg that Jane, the daughter of Fairy Godmother, wears. You know that pretty big bow that Fairy Godmother wears in the original "Cinderella" animated classic and the rendition she wears in "Descendants"? Well, look closely at Jane's adorable earrings and you'll see she sports her mother's iconic fashion statement as well.

Now we go onto two from "Descendants 2". The first one cracked me up when I spotted it! πŸ˜‚ If you're familiar with the ever beloved "Beauty and the Beast" animated classic, you'll recall Gaston's line in his song, "When I was a lad, I ate four dozen eggs every morning to help me get large. And now that I'm grown, I eat five dozen eggs, so I'm roughly the size of a barge!" His son, Gil, who also lives on the Isle of the Lost, is stealing some eggs in "Descendants 2"! Whether for his father or for himself, we may never know. (Gil is also eating hard boiled eggs in Ursula's chip shop at the beginning of the movie.)

Finally, our last Easter Egg comes from Harry Hook. It was revealed in an Oh My Disney post that, on the Isle of the Lost, Captain Hook apparently owns a clock shop. Curious, considering his fear of Tick-Tock the Croc in "Peter Pan". Harry must work there also because he hangs a pocket watch from his hook, which he shows Ben while on Uma's ship.
