Your 2022 Guide to Trendy Nail Colors for Winter

I’ve really enjoyed putting together trend guides for Summer 2021 and Fall 2021, so now we’re moving into the colder months! Winter is a tricky nail polish season for me, at least after all the Christmas colors, since there’s never a clear consensus on neutrals or darks for us seasonal-nail-polish-wearers.

So, in case you’re wondering what’s trending this year, I’ve got some suggestions for you here. You don’t have to go scrolling through Pinterest or digging around Instagram, because I did that for you and came up with four shades that I’ve been seeing a lot lately in cozy, winter manicures. Let’s take a look…

1. Light or Neutral Pink

Something I saw a lot while scrolling through winter mani hashtags were more neutral, natural-nail looks featuring a lot of light/neutral pink shades. These ranged from an actual light pink like my example shade above to more skin tone-like colors paired with French manis and negative space nail art. If you’re looking for a nice palette-cleanse color this season, then this trend is the one for you!

2. Light Powdery Blue

A shade I saw dotted between the more plain, neutral manicures was the occasional pop of a light, powdery blue. I love a nice cozy blue in the winter, so I’m really happy to see more of this shade this year. This type of color would be beautiful paired with a nice metallic accent (as seen above) or with some delicate snowflake designs.

The example polish I have for this one is called “Surfside Skies” and it’s from the China Glaze Cali Dreams 2021 Collection.

3. Soft Silver or Gray

I only spotted this one a few times, however, I wanted to include it as more of a unique option. I didn’t have swatch of a silver polish to show you, but a lot of the nail art looks I saw utilized it as a pretty gradient tip or incorporated it as a sparkly accent. I did see lighter grays mixed in manis with darker ones and a lot of black too, either as mix-and-match designs or skittles. This is such a versatile type to experiment with!

The example polish I have for this one is called “Heavenly Lights” (g) and it’s from the brand Huella Beauty. You can use my code “threesixtynails” for 10% off and shop through my aff. link to support me: https://www.huellabeauty.com/?sca_ref=1281208.9LtdpELv4C.

4. “Oatmilk” or Ivory Neutral

I actually love this color and I think the name I came up with fits it perfectly. As I mentioned with the light pink, I definitely saw an abundance of neutral, natural-nail manis and the ones featuring these lighter, more chic shades really caught my attention. This color type could be paired with black for a more severe look or worn as a stand-alone polish for a soft, simple mani.

I had so much fun putting this post together! I hope you found it helpful in picking out your next cool mani. I love this color palette and I think all of these trend shades look gorgeous together or on their own. I will definitely be doing some nail art with these soon!

Which of these Winter 2022 shades is your fave? Is there another trend color you’ve been loving? Comment below!
