Palm & Cross Good Friday Nail Art
I saw such beautiful cross and palm illustrations/imagery throughout this Holy Week, so I decided to create my own nail design to share with you today on Good Friday.
I love how this manicure turned out and it’s such an incredible reminder of Jesus’ loving sacrifice every time I look at my nails. It’s designs like these that make me so grateful for the amazing ways that we can wear what’s most important to us through nail art. 💕
As usual, below you’ll find a product list for this one featuring the polishes I used with links (some aff.), as well as a quick step-by-step for you. Enjoy!
Products used in this mani:
“Romantic Peach” by Sally Hansen [good. kind. pure.] (fyi, this link is to the new formula; I’ve only tried the old one)
“HD” by Olive & June
For the Huella Beauty polish, you can use my code “threesixtynails” for 10% off!
(!) Polishes in this post contain/may contain: Acetyl Tributyl Citrate, Aluminum Powder, Ferric Ammonium Ferrocyanide, and Ferric Ferrocyanide. Please visit my Journey to “Less-Toxic” Nail Polish page to learn more.
Nail art tutorial:
Step 1: After base coat, choose a light neutral polish and apply two coats to all of your nails. Let dry for 2-5 minutes.
Step 2: Using a brown polish and a detailing nail art brush or toothpick, create the shape of a cross on your middle nail. You can make this as thin or thick as you’d like; you’re essentially creating a lowercase t-shape if that helps.
Step 3: On the rest of your nails, you’ll be creating some simple palm leaves. Choose a light green to create the stalk. Again using a detailing nail art brush or toothpick, create a thin line coming up from one corner of your nail. Repeat on your remaining four nails and let dry 2-3 minutes.
Step 4: Once the stalk is dry, using a darker green and that same tool, add the leaves to the stalks with a few more small lines. Let dry 2-3 minutes.
Step 5: (optional) Finish off your mani by using a dotting tool or toothpick and a white polish to add a few small dots to two of your nails. Let dry 2-3 minutes, then swipe on a little bit of gold glitter over the white dots to add a little sparkle.
Step 6: After letting all of your nails dry for 2-7 minutes, apply top coat to protect your beautiful new nail designs. Let this dry fully and your mani is complete!
I pray that this Good Friday reminds you of how infinitely Jesus loves you and how His great light can overcome even the darkest day. 💛
I was reading the book of John earlier today, so here are a few verses of Jesus’ words before His crucifixion that I wanted to share with you…
“‘A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.’” —John 13:34-35
“‘Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.’” —John 16:20
““I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” —John 16:33
I pray that these verses fill you with hope and peace and comfort today. God bless you. 🤍
