Minimal Tie-Dye Mani

I was painting my nails recently, intending on just painting them a solid color to wear for the week. However, if you’re a long-time nail artist like me, sometimes it’s hard to stop at just a plain mani when there’s all that design potential in front of you! So, I decided to add some very minimal and fun accent nails and I think this mani turned out so cute.

This design was so easy to create and you don’t need ANY tools to do it! If you like a tie-dye look, but want something more minimal and simple, then this might just be the mani for you. This would also look really cool in a pastel or muted color scheme, so feel free to use whatever colors you like best!

As usual, below you’ll find a product list for this one featuring my Olive & June ref. link for your shopping convenience, as well as a quick step-by-step tutorial for you. I hope you enjoy!

Nail art tutorial:

Step 1: After base coat, apply two coats of your base color of choice to all of your nails. Let all your nails dry for 2-5 minutes between coats and then 2-5 minutes before moving on to the next steps.

Step 2: Once your base color is fully dry, choose two other colors for the tie-dye design. Starting with one of these colors, wipe off a lot of the polish on the brush onto a paper towel. Then go in the corner of your ring nail, to flick the polish up slightly, creating a small dry-brush design. Repeat this on your thumb. Let dry for 1-2 minutes.

Step 3: Once this first color is dry, go back in with your second color and do the same process to add a second layer of color over the first. Leave a strip of the first color over the top to create that cute tie-dye look. Let dry for 2-3 minutes.

Step 4: After letting all of your nails dry for 2-7 minutes, apply top coat to protect your beautiful designs. Let this dry fully and your mani is complete!
