3 Minimal & Trendy Negative Space Manicures

Minimal nail art has been a go-to of mine for the last few years, so I was really happy when Kayla from Cork Manicures suggested a negative space theme for our recent YouTube collab! We each created a couple of manis with this quality in mind, so check out my video here to see the tutorials (link in the description for Kayla’s video)…

I am so happy with how this video turned out and it’s so hard to choose favorites out of these three! So now, onto some more pics of the manis and details about their polishes.

Mani #1: Funky French Tips

I love the fun vibe of this design! If you’re in the mood for something a little more colorful than your classic French mani, this is a great option for you. You can make these tips as thin or thick as you like; you could also use some little French tip guide stickers like these from Orly for more precision. Be sure to let your base coat/color dry before sticking them on though! This design would also look so cute and trendy with multicolor tips, so it’s super customizable to whatever you like!

  • “Be More Pacific” by Nailtopia

Mani #2: Aesthetic Daisies

I know I said it was hard to choose favorites, but…this one might be my favorite. :) I feel like I’ve seen a lot of daisies and little flowers in trendy manis lately, so this is a great one to try out if you’re looking for something simple and aesthetic. I used a detailing nail art brush to do the petals and a dotting tool for the center, but you could use a dotting tool or toothpick to create the entire design if you want. Changing up the colors or flower of this one would be fun too!

Mani #3: Dry-Brush Geometric

And finally we have this cute design! Again, super customizable with colors, and you can change up the lines to whatever look you like best. Originally, I was going to do the same design on all my nails, but then I decided to do something different on each one. To achieve the dry-brush look, you can wipe off the polish on a paper towel, only take a little out of the bottle, or wipe it back as you go. You can use a striper for easier lines too!

Polishes used in this design:

  • “Sheer Selflessness” by Nailtural

  • “Peony Origins” by Sally Hansen [good. kind. pure.]

I had so much fun putting this post together and I hope you enjoyed seeing these negative space mani ideas! If you decide to re-create any of these, then definitely share on Instagram with #tsninspo so I can see and share with our community.

Which of these manis is your favorite? Comment below!

Have a polished rest of your day,
