My Current Favorite Skin Care Products || March 2020
Hi, Polished People! I hope you're doing well and having a nice day. I haven't put together a post like this in quite a while, but I keep thinking of skin care faves I want to share, so I'm compiling them now. This post isn't sponsored by any of the companies' products, but I'll be including Amazon affiliate links for all the things I'm sharing; I receive a small commission, but you won't be charged any different for your purchase. If you find anything you're interested in, thank you for your support! Okay, now let's dive into these products...
The first product I'll be talking about is the one that inspired this entire post. I was shopping at the drugstore one day last month and I wanted to find some type of cleanser. I've also been on the hunt for something other than makeup remover wipes, since the ones I'd been using weren't working super well. I found this product in the Aveeno Ultra-Calming line, their Foaming Cleanser + Makeup Remover. This is by far the best makeup removing product I've ever tried and it works amazing.
The big drawback for me with the makeup wipes I was using was that no matter how hard I scrubbed, they just couldn't take off all of my mascara. Some of you may know that I work a lot in community theater and when I first tried this product, I had on a full face of stage makeup. After using this product, there wasn't a speck of it left on my face! This cleanser is so gentle yet powerful. I always have issues using soap-like products like this on/around my eyes, but this one didn't bother me and all of my mascara vanished. It's also not super drying, either; however, if you do tend to have dry skin, you might want to add a drop of moisturizer when you're done.
If you're looking for a gentle cleanser/makeup remover that'll really get the job done, this product is for you. I have pretty sensitive skin and this one was okay with me, but of course, everyone's skin chemistry is different. My skin didn't feel overly dried out after use and my face felt very refreshed. I have yet to use this on a face of everyday makeup, but I have used it as a cleanser in the morning a few times. Overall, if you're on the hunt for a good cleanser/makeup remover, I would highly highly recommend this one. Next up we have a product that I actually just finished my first tube of; this is the Milk and Honey Body Lotion from Burt's Bees. I can't even remember exactly when I bought this product, but I'm pretty sure it's lasted me about a year. Of course, if you use this type of thing more frequently that I did, it probably wouldn't last as long. You really don't need to use a lot of it for it to work, though, so it might last you quite a while. It depends! Anyway, I usually use this lotion on my face after a shower or if I use a facewash/scrub that's a little more drying. It's such a light moisturizer, but it's very hydrating and feels good on your skin.
You only need a drop of this, usually, and it works great. When I first got this, I used it as more of a body lotion (that is what it's called, after all). Gradually, though, I came to like it more as just a face product since, overtime, I've discovered other products for full-body use that I like better. I really like the hydration this lotion provides, and that it doesn't feel heavy or oily after application. In my experience, it absorbs pretty quickly and softens my skin very well.
If you haven't found a good moisturizer and you need a light one, this is a fantastic option. I'm so surprised I finished the entire bottle; I can never seem to finish up any skin care products! Since this one lasted me so long and served me so well, I was very happy to include it in this post. If you're interested, you can click the picture above or visit this link: https://amzn.to/2UugsvR. I need to order from this link soon!
The final product I'm sharing today is this Avocado and Honey Scrub by St. Ives. (Wow, two products that include honey; can you tell what I like?) A while ago, I tried another scrub by St. Ives and I really liked it, so I wanted to see what other things they had in their line. I discovered the wide variety of scrubs they offer and found this little guy. I wanted a more gentle exfoliant than the one I'd previously tried, and this one is perfect. I've already used up half of it!
The other great thing about this scrub is that it's very versatile. You can use it on your face and/or as a full-body product. Although it does do a good job of exfoliating your skin, this one is more gentle than some other scrubs, and it'll leave your skin feeling soft and fresh. It doesn't have a super strong scent, either. I use this on my face every so often and on my legs/arms as an exfoliant once in a while. It's also a fun color!
If you need a good scrub and have never tried one from St. Ives, I highly recommend this one. I highly recommend this brand as a whole, actually. Recently, I've tried their new bodywash, a facial cleanser, and I bought a mask of theirs, I just don't know where it went. If you're interested, you can click the picture above or visit this link: https://amzn.to/2yn5v6T. I haven't used this one in a while, but I definitely will soon.
