How to Train Your Dragon 3: The Hidden World Nail Art
One of my all-time favorite movie series is the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy and I actually don't think I've ever done nail art for it before. So, today, I spent some time creating some cute and edgy nails just in time for the premiere of How to Train Your Dragon 3: The Hidden World. Here's how they turned out!
I had a great time being creative with these! My first idea was to use a textured polish for the Toothless design, but I don't have a black textured polish, so here's some simple steps for textured nails if you don't have the exact color you need:
1. Choose any textured polish
2. Apply two coats, letting dry in between and afterward for several minutes
3. Apply a coat of the polish you want to look textured over the textured polish
4. Let dry and apply second coat if needed
This worked out so nicely for this nail art! I started with two coats of "Pink Bubbly" by OPI, then I put a gorgeous black holographic polish over top; its name is "Maliboo-boo" from the China Glaze Paint it Black Collection. It ended up looking very similar to Toothless' dragon scales! Later on, I decided to hand-paint Toothless' eyes on top of the black.
As for the other nails, I did two red nails with the skull design from Toothless' original prosthetic tail attachment. For my pointer finger, I did a simple silver background with gold dots.
I wore these nails to see the HTTYD preview, so if you're planning on seeing this movie tomorrow or soon, definitely give these nails a try! As for the movie, I enjoyed it so much; it was an excellent way to close this pop culture staple trilogy. The story was fantastic, a really good rollercoaster of action/adventure/emotion. The ending is so beautiful and any fans of the movies will surely enjoy every minute of this third installment. I know I did! I've been watching these movies for so many years, I've especially seen the second one sooooo many times, so I was super excited to see this one. I loved it! I can't wait for the DVD to come out, lol!
