How To: Summer Festival Nails ~ Step-by-Step! ~ 1 MORE DAY TO LEAVE YOUR FEEDBACK!
Good morning, guys! Before we start, please take a minute to fill out the feedback form below--it disappears from threesixtynails.com tomorrow at 11:59pm EST. Thank you to all those who have already left such lovely feedback; your input is appreciated and valued!
Okay, so now onto the nail art. I posted a really pretty Summer mani on Instagram (@threesixtynails) and figured I teach you how to create it!
If you're interested in finding some or all of the same products I used to create this, I found links to everything you'll need below. And then I put together a step-by-step for how to create this mani. Enjoy!
Polishes/Tools used in this design:
"Orange You Hot?" - China Glaze
"We Run this Beach" - China Glaze
"Don't Teal my Vibe" - China Glaze
"Holobuloo" - designed with Penny Bloom
Step 1:
After base coat, choose a bright Summery color and a light neutral (or white). Apply the bright color to your pointer, middle, and pinky fingers; apply the neutral or white to your ring finger and thumb. Let dry 2-4 minutes between coats; let dry 3-6 minutes completely.
Step 2:
Now grab a detailing nail art brush or a toothpick and a color that contrasts your current palette well. You're going to be creating a cute palm tree! Start with the trunk. Create a line slightly curving up from the nail tip; fan it out just a little at the base.
Step 3:
Make 4-7 leaves sprouting out and curving from the top of the tree by striking four lines out from the top of the first line. Add some fanning and slightly abstract strokes to create some detail. Let dry 2-4 minutes.
Step 4:
To add some color to the palm tree nails, tear a small piece off a makeup sponge and grab it with some tweezers. Dip it in some light color, like something you'd see in the sky or in a sunset. Sponge off excess if necessary. Dab the color around the palm tree or focus it to one top corner.
Step 5:
Next dip your sponge into a holographic or regular glitter. Sponge off excess if necessary. Dab the glitter around the same area as the light blue.
Step 6:
Now grab a chunky holographic or regular glitter. Brush or drop a good amount onto some paper or a palette. Use your detailing brush to grab bits of glitter and create a swoop of glitter weaving across the bright-colored nails. Make the sweep across one nail, then continue it on the next. Let dry 3-6 minutes when finished.
Step 7:
Keep your pretty design safe with a fast-drying top coat! Let dry completely 5-12 minutes.
Pretty simple, right?! This design is great because you can rotate the color palette depending on when or where you're wearing this mani! Great for Summertime and festivals. :) Comment below what your favorite type of mani is for the Summer!
