How To: [Glam] Magical Undersea Mermaid Sparkle Manicure ~ Step-by-Step! ~ Feedback Week on threesixtynails.com
Good evening, everyone! I posted a GORGEOUSLY MERMAID-ESQUE mani on Instagram (@threesixtynails) this morning. My goodness--I created it yesterday and it came out so sparkly, magical, and Summery, I just had to teach you how to create it for yourself. So let's dive right in! ☺
Starting off, just a quick update about how links to products used in this design will be presented. As you may have known, Amazon.com is removing their aStore feature, so the links will once again be raw Amazon.com links. But that's okay! Amazon.com is always awesome and easy to shop on. :) This design is fun, glam, and easy, so enjoy!
Polishes/Tools used in this design:
China Glaze: Tealing My Vibe *Unavailable :(
Step 1:
After base coat, choose some mermaid-y polishes (optionally one without glitter, and one with glitter for the complimenting nails aside from the design ones) and apply them to your nails. Let dry 2-5 minutes between coats; let dry 5-10 minutes completely before adding art or top coat.
Step 2:
Grab a holographic polish with a color that stands out against your palette so far and contrasts the main color of your mani. Next you'll need a detailing nail art brush or a toothpick. We're going to make a simple mermaid scale design on this first nail. Just use the macro pic above to judge what shapes you'd like to make or a mermaid scale image from the Internet. These don't have to be perfect at all--it'll be gorgeous any way you create it! Also, if you don't feel like freehanding the scales, you can use some quick and easy nail vinyls LIKE THESE.
Step 3:
Now onto the other design nail. Begin by adding a layer of some kind of glitter over your base that adds some undersea/glam feel to the nail; let the glitter coat dry for 3-6 minutes. Next, make an eye-catching chevron with that same holographic polish you used for the scales. Let dry 3-5 minutes.
Step 4:
And that's seriously it! Just add top coat and your all finished! Now hurry outside in the sunlight or grab a flashlight to see that sparkly mani. ☺
Hope you enjoy creating this manicure as much as I did! It's so easy but it'll look a lot more complicated and salon-perfect without being difficult. Post your re-creations on Instagram with #threesixtynails and #threesixtynailsNBfeature!
