How-To: "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown"-inspired Nail Art ~ Step-by-Step! ~ Thank you for 800+ followers on Instagram!!
Good evening, all! I had a blast creating these super-cute "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown"-inspired nails, all complete with Charlie Brown's shirt pattern, a baseball, and Snoopy on his house. So let's begin!
Below is a Polishes/Tools list with convenient links to all the things I used to create this mani and a step-by-step for the directions. Enjoy!
Polishes/Tools I used to create this design:
OPI: Exotic Birds Do Not Tweet *Unavailable :(
Sinful Colors: Snow Me White *three pack
OPI: Suzi Without A Paddle *Unavailable :(
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri: Sonic Bloom
Craft Smart Acrylic Paint Value Pack: Black
Step 1:
Apply a basecoat; then apply a yellow polish to your pointer, ring, and pinky fingers; apply a white polish to your middle finger; and apply a light blue polish to your thumb.
Step 2:
For the Charlie Brown shirt pattern nails, grab a detailing/striper nail art brush or toothpick and black polish or acrylic paint. Guide your design with some dots in the shape of the big black stripe and then connect. Fill it in when you've connected all the lines and dots. Reshape into points as necessary.
Step 3:
For the baseball nails, the easiest of all three designs, make some little red stitches/dashes with red acrylic paint or polish and a toothpick or nail art brush. Make them in a curved fashion so they create the slight illusion of a round ball. If you'd like, draw on some thin and uneven lines to create some seams in the ball.
Step 4:
For the first part of the Snoopy nail, make a red square coming up/down from your cuticle; this doesn't have to be perfect because you'll put the black roof over it. Now make a black trapezoid overlapping the red square. Make sure the top is pretty even and flat!
Step 5:
For Snoopy lying on the house, make an almost-heart shape horizontal to the roof so that one side sticks up as Snoopy's nose. Now add a little more straight white space and a smaller hill shape for Snoopy's tummy. Finish by making his feet with an oval at the end of the roof; add a little more white space for the legs.
Step 6:
Grab some black polish and a toothpick or detailing brush. Ever so lightly, create a little C-shape for Snoopy's closed eye, a dot at the top of his muzzle for his nose, an arm outline on the side of his body, and a line or two on his feet. Add his teardrop-shape ear extending behind the house a little so it doesn't blend with the roof.
Step 7:
After giving your designs some good time to dry, apply a fast-drying topcoat to protect your adorable nails!
I adore how this design turned out and I hope you do, too! Share your re-creations of one or all the designs with #threesixtynails and #threesixtynailsNbfeature on Instagram!
