Non-Dominant Nail Art: Sweet Unicorn Nail Art ~ Tutorial Video! ~ Tips for painting your Dominant Hand
Good evening, everybody! I am excited to announce a new "series" on the threesixtynails blog: Non-Dominant Nail Art!!! These designs will always be created on my dominant hand and by my non-dominant hand, this way I can teach you some great techniques and tips for painting or designing on your other hand. So, let's get started!
I recently updated the presentation of my products/tools lists, so now, instead of looking at a raw Amazon.com link, you can stay within the walls of the threesixtynails Nail Shop and find all your nail art goodies there. Below that, is our weekly tutorial video! Enjoy!
Polishes/Tools I used to create this design:
Revlon: Pure Pearl (pearly/glistening white)
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri: Go for Gold (metallic/sparkly gold)
OPI: Getting Nadi On My Honeymoon (light pink) *Unavailable in the Nail Shop :(
wet n wild: Walking on Airs (sky blue) *Unavailable in the Nail Shop :(
Sinful Colors: Bluz Cruz (grape purple/violet) *Goodness, all the polishes are playing hide and seek today! This one is linked to an almost exact dupe, "All Access Pass" by essie.
Craft Smart Acrylic Paint Value Pack: Black *You can substitute this for black polish if you don't have acrylic paint.
PennyBloom Custom Nail Polish: Holobuloo (holographic custom glitter mix)
Winning Nails: Nail Art Brush (detailing size) *This links to the striper version of these brushes which will work great, too.

And that's it! Pretty easy. Being good at painting your nails and doing nail art on your dominant hand can be really tricky, but after lots and lots of practice, you'll get the hang of it. :) Here are some tips for you if you're just starting:
#1: Don't stress! Apply some liquid latex, clear tape, or non-latex skin protector around your cuticles to minimize clean up and keep your painting neat.
#2: Keep your hands steady! Steady your hands on your work surface, balance your hands and fingers on each other if you paint off your work surface, and try to move your dominant hand more than the brush that your non-dominant hand is guiding.
#3: Start off with simple or abstract designs at first! This will cover up your early mistakes very well. ☺
I hope these are helpful to you! P.S. If you re-create this magical mani (on your dominant or non-dominant hand), I'd enjoy seeing it on Instagram with #threesixtynails. And use #threesixtynailsNBfeature for a chance to be featured in the weekly TSN post!
(Isn't she adorable?! This will be added to Nail LOL ASAP!)
