Hi, Polished People! I can’t believe it, but today is my four-year anniversary. Four years ago today, January 23rd, 2017, I launched my little business into the world. First, as always, thank you so much for all of your support and welcome to everyone who’s new. Now, per tradition, I wanted to write a little blog post to celebrate my anniversary. Since I shared my whole threesixtynails story last year, this year, I wanted to go through the evolution of it.
Also, a few stats before we start. We hit 1,300 Polished People on YouTube today, 2,360 on Instagram recently, almost 200 on Twitter, and we’re almost at 100 over in the VIPP email club! So grateful for our wonderful community.
When I first started threesixtynails, I wanted to focus on many different nail community facets, hence the name. I started by sharing pictorials here on the blog, short nail art tutorials, written instructions, etc. My biz was primarily nail art. Instagram was always so much fun, but I definitely posted more “filler” content in the early days. I did the 31DC2017, tried a lot of new polish, and started my YouTube channel. Our community was off to a wonderful start within a couple months. I remember feeling so inspired and having a blast with all the newness of everything; that first year was incredible.
Come my one-year anniversary, there was still lots of nail art happening, but I began to incorporate a few more swatches in the first couple months of 2018. Swatching became a bigger thing as my YouTube channel developed. I did the 31DC2018, went to the Indie Shop in Atlanta, and this was my first year doing Nailmas. This year was full of big changes and definitely a lot of firsts!
I had started incorporating more beauty content late in 2018, so that carried into 2019 for a little while. I definitely did more swatches than nail art this year. The 31DC2019 and Nailmas were a part of my year once again and I had a lot of fun experimenting with different types of YouTube videos.
Three years into threesixtynails in 2019, a lot of things began to change. I started to incorporate beauty and business, adding those to my “all things nails” tagline. Eventually, I wasn’t vibing with this theme anymore, so I migrated to my current tagline, “all things nails and good vibes.” This brings us to one of my favorite parts of threesixtynails’ evolution: wellness.
In 2020, I think I finally found the heart of my business; what I want it to be; the type of environment I want to create. I realized how important wellness is to me and how much more of it we need on the Internet. I wanted to cultivate a space of joy and positivity and encouragement and peace and calm, somewhere to come spend time with a community of fellow nail artists and polish enthusiasts. And I’ve been having such a great time putting that into affect in the last year.
I’ve gotten messages from so many of you, saying how much you enjoyed a little uplifting post on my IG Story in the morning or a relaxing swatch video on YouTube. It makes me so happy to know that I have the ability to share good energy and add some sunlight to someone’s day.
I’m the happiest I’ve ever been with the feel and message of my brand, and I can’t believe how far we’ve come in just a few years. I hope that threesixtynails has been a place for you to come and relax and see some pretty polishes and feel inspired.
So, here we are, at the current phase of threesixtynails’ evolution. I’m so excited to see how my business continues to evolve in the future and I’m looking forward to sharing the journey with you. Again, thank you for your viewership, readership, support, likes, lovely comments, subscriptions, friendship, and Polished Person-ship over the last four years.
Here’s to all things nails and good vibes!
Have a polished rest of your day,
