Good afternoon, everybody! So, instead of the usual  Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule, this week I’ve got something special and fun: the threesixtynails TRIPLE-STUFFED ALL THINGS NAILS POST!!! In this post, you’ll get your Monday nail art tutorial, Wednesday nail art video tutorial, and Friday Products of the Week all rolled into one fun post! Who’s excited?! I know I am. So, turn off Ad-Blocker momentarily, and let’s begin. 🙂

First, I’ll be teaching you how to create one of my favorite Spring/Summer designs that I created for this month’s nail art challenge hosted by @allaboutthatnailpolish on Instagram; Whimsical & Pastel Unicorn Nail Art! I’ve got a  polishes/tools list for all the pretty things I used to create this mani and a step-by-step for you to follow. Enjoy!

Polishes/Tools used in this design:

Formula X, The System: Primer (basecoat)

Sinful Colors: Snow Me White (opaque white)

Zoya: Dream (amazing holographic blue)

China Glaze: Heat Index (bright/neon jelly pink)

Formula X: Lively (Springy pastel yellow)

essie: Chillato (light/Springy green)

wet n wild: Walking on Airs (bright sky blue) *Unavailable on

Craft Smart Acrylic Paint (white and black) *Unavailable on

Revlon: Extravagant (dusty/shimmery rosy pink)

Revlon: Hypnotic (shimmery/pearlescent fuchsia)

Formula X: Petal to the Metal (electric bright purple)

China Glaze: Turn Up the Heat (sparkly magenta/purple glitter topper)

Serendipity: Finishing Touch Topcoat *Unavailable on

Makeup Sponges

Winning Nails: Nail Art Brush (detailing size) *Striper-style

essence: Duo Stylist (dotting tool)

Step 1:

After a basecoat, apply one coat of an opaque white polish to your thumb, middle finger, and pinky finger. Add two coats of your favorite holographic polish to your pointer and ring finger. Let these dry 3-6 minutes.

Step 2:

Apply the colors you’d like for a rainbow-like gradient, the perfect background for our magical unicorn, to a makeup sponge and create a gradient over your white nails. Re-apply the colors 2 to 3 times for the best opacity. Let dry 2-4 minutes. If you’d like, add some fast-drying topcoat to smooth and blend the gradient a little more.

Step 3:

Now create the unicorn shape you’d like. On your middle finger, create the outline and fill it in with white acrylic paint; this shape will be the face and neck of the unicorn. Don’t forget the horn and add some space (filled in) to paint over in mane colors later!

Step 4:

On your ring finger, continue the shape of the unicorn’s body/back. Line up your nails to make the shape continuation easier. Finish the lines for the mane her as well.

Step 5:

On your pinky, add a tiny curve of white to end the unicorn’s body and add a tail shape.

Step 6:

Now finish off the details of the unicorn with a toothpick or detailing brush, these being the eyes, nostrils, smile, and eyelashes with black and white acrylic paint. Use the same holographic polish that you used on your other nails for the eye color.

Step 7:

Time for some color! Using some colors that contrast your rainbow background a little, fill in some fun colors for the mane and tail of your unicorn, then cover the horn with some sparkly glitter.

Step 8:

On your pointer finger, add some swirling magic from the unicorn’s horn in the same glitter color you put over the horn.

Step 9:

And that’s it! After letting it dry for a good 3-5 minutes, now add a generous amount of fast-drying topcoat to protect your pretty unicorn.

Pretty easy, right? This is so perfect for Spring and/or Summer and the rainbow gradient that I created for mine might just be my all-time favorite! ☺ Share your re-creations of this design with #threesixtynails on Instagram!

Second, yay! A new video tutorial!! Third and final, now let’s review some of my favorite products of the week. This week’s theme is nail essentials, so let’s begin!

…”Anchor Basecoat” by Zoya!!!!!!!!!!! This amazing basecoat is so perfect and will hold your polish on for a long time. I love the formula and the brush is awesome for application. One of my all-time favorites! Shop it at this link from the threesixtynails Nail Shop: .

Next up…

… “Precision Nail Glue” by KISS Products!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is FANTASTIC for rescuing that ripped nail that you don’t want to lose the length from and/or securing a fake nail if you break or rip your nail completely off. This precision tip also helps when applying 3D decor to your nails because you can place the perfect amount. Awesome product! Shop it at this link from the threesixtynails Nail Shop: .

And finally…

… “Crystal Nail File (Pink)” by Sephora!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is much better than a traditional file, as it prevents splitting and peeling. It’s gentler and is very pretty. All you have to do is rinse it off after each use, and it’s good as new! Shop it at this link from the threesixtynails Nail Shop: .

And that’s all! Let me know down in the comments how you liked this fabulously-stuffed-with-so-much-ALL-THINGS-NAILS-awesomeness-you-can’t-even-handle-it post and share your re-creations on Instagram with #threesixtynails.
