Pusheen the Cat Nail Art Series, Week 2: Pusheen + Donut Design

Good afternoon, guys! It is once again Monday and that means it’s time for more Pusheen-packed awesomeness! Let’s begin!

Okay, so today’s design is…

… Pusheen and a Donut!!!!!! So sweet! As usual, a polishes/tools list and a step-by-step; enjoy!

Polishes/Tools used in this design:

Seche Clear: Crystal Clear Basecoat

Sinful Colors: Pink Smart (bright light pink) *Link to an OPI polish that is just as cute

Craft Smart: Acrylic Paint Value Pack *This Craft Smart pack was unavailable on Amazon, and this link is for an Apple Barrel pack; I’ve heard great things about this acrylic paint, too!

Seche Vite: Dry-Fast Topcoat

Sally Hansen: Big Matte Topcoat

Step 1:

Using an image of Pusheen, draw her outline over a light-pink background (over a basecoat!) with warm-grey acrylic paint; fill it in and let dry 3-5 mins.

Step 2:

If needed, apply a second coat of the fill-in and let dry 3-5 mins.

Step 3:

Add a little black to the grey and create the three little lines between Pusheen’s ears; with the same color, make two oval/spots on the left side of her body.

Step 4:

Using a dotting tool and some brown-black paint, make Pusheen’s eyes, then make a triangle of smaller dots and connect them to form her mouth (add two backwards Cs to create her donut-stuffed cheeks); also make little equal (=) signs on both sides of her face for her whiskers.

Step 5:

Using a toothpick or nail art brush, create a donut shape below Pusheen’s mouth with light-yellow-orange acrylic paint; let dry 3-4 mins.

Step 6:

Now create a layer of blue frosting over the donut; after letting dry 3-4 mins, add optional sprinkles with a toothpick or dotting tool.

Step 7:

Add Pusheen’s paws over the donut so it looks like she’s holding it.

Step 8:

After letting dry completely, 4-8 mins, apply a topcoat or fast-drying topcoat to keep Pusheen safe and cute on your nail; optionally add a matte topcoat and let dry 5-15 mins.
